Mrs. B. D. Davis, who lied here up to two years ago, died in Chicago Friday and was brought here for burial. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church after which the body was interred at Guion. Mrs. Davis was Miss Mary J. Curtis and was born in Devonshire, England Jan 27, 1831. She married B(urnham) D. Davis in 1855. One child, Edward was born to them who with the husband survives. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Christian Church at this place and one of her last requests was that her funeral might take place here. Mr. Davis who is now, 87 is very feeble. He will visit with friends here for some time before returning to Chicago – bkz
